He died in May 1720 in New Rochelle, Westchester County, New York. He was also known as Andre Naudain.
He was a French Huguenot. On 30 July 1682 Andre was accepted into the congregation of the French Church on Threadneedle Street in London. In thye record of his acceptance Andre is described as being from St. Maixent in Pictou, France. Andre (listed as a linen weaver), his wife, and three children recieved assistance from 25 Jul to 19 Dec 1682. On 30 Jan 1683/4 he is listed on the assistance roll with four children. On 12 Oct 12 1684 he was suspended from communion until he repaid the grants. Andre came to America, from France and Belgium, via London, about 1690. On 22 Nov 1694 he purchased 200 acreas of land in New Rochelle.He served in various town offices in New Rochelle. He bought 200 acres of land in New Rochelle, New York on 22 Nov 1694. He may have lived there before buying the home. The 1698 census for Mamaroneck, New Rochelle and Morrisania list Andrew's family as: Andrew Nodean, age 57, Margreat Nodean his wife, age 52, and Andrew Nodean age 19. Based on the phonetic spelling of Andrews' name, and that of other French families in New Rochelle, it is believed they spoke a guttural French called, "langue d'oc".
