In 1748 Joshua Ball of Hanover: "for and in consideration of eighty pounds of lawful money of New Jersey sold to his brother, Caleb Ball, also of Hanover, bloomer, a one equal sixth part of the Old Iron Works in Hanover, along with the one equal sixth part of the saw mill adjoining together with land, stream, dam, houses, cole house." This share in the Iron Works had previously belonged to Caleb Ball Sr. who had arrived in the village about 1710.

No headstones of Caleb Ball Junior or his sons have been found, but the deaths and ages of some of them have been ascertained from the Morristown Bill of Mortality. The house of Caleb Ball Jr is mentioned in the County Road Book as being near "White Brook" (north of Newark) in 1716 and appears, from the Long Bill in Chancery, that the land was surveyed for John Ball in 1724. Caleb's sons, Joshua and Caleb, were half brothers - Hence Sarah (Wallace) widow of Caleb Junior was a second wife married to Caleb Ball about 1725. They had 8 children; Ezekiel, Caleb, Lydia, Anne, Deborah, Mathew, Eleanor, and Sarah.
Caleb BALL Jr and Elizabeth were married in 1717/18.
