Before using or becoming a member of Shared Ancestors, please review the following terms and conditions ("Agreement") which define your responsibilities as a user of this Site.





USER PROVIDED CONTENT



Shared Ancestors contains graphics, information, data, editorial and other content that may be accessible (limited) by any Internet user and similar content which is accessible only to our members. Portions of Shared Ancestors will contain user provided content to which members may contribute appropriate genealogy related content. In regards to this content you agree that Shared Ancestors is a host only, is not liable for user contributed content, and that said user is the owner of any and all content contributed by that user. Should you contribute content to the site, you understand that it will be seen and used by others as described herein. Each member should submit only content which belongs to that member and only content that does not violate the property or other rights of other people or organizations. Shared Ancestors will not edit or monitor member provided content. Shared Ancestors reserves the right to remove any user [Member] provided content that comes to our attention and that we believe, in our sole discretion, is illegal, obscene, indecent, defamatory, incites racial or ethnic hatred, violates the rights of others, or is in any other way objectionable.

REGISTRATION AND SECURITY



1. As part of the registration process, you will select a username and password. 2. You shall notify the Site Administrator of any known or suspected unauthorized use(s) of your account, or any known or suspected breach of security, including loss, theft, or unauthorized disclosure of your password. You will be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password. You will never be required to reveal your password to any representative or agent of Shared Ancestors.



3. You are responsible for all usage or activity on Shared Ancestors via your password account. Any fraudulent, abusive, or otherwise illegal activity may be grounds for termination of your account, at our sole discretion, and you may be referred to appropriate law enforcement agencies.



ANTI-SPAM AND PRIVACY POLICY



Shared Ancestors is committed to ensuring our members privacy. Your name and email is used only for registration purposes and for any necessary communication between the Administrator(s) of this web site and our members. Your information will never be given, sold, or disclosed to outside entities or parties and never without your express permission. Shared Ancestors does send a newsletter to our members who have either subscribed to it or expressed a desire to receive it. If you inadvertently receive a newsletter and do not wish to do so, then please send an email with UNSUBSCRIBE in the subject to admin@sharedancestors.com and you will be removed from our mailing list. In addition, those wishing to subscribe need only send an email to admin@sharedancestors.com with SUBSCRIBE in the subject.



MODIFICATIONS TO THIS AGREEMENT AND THE SERVICE



Shared Ancestors has the right, at its sole discretion, to modify this Agreement or the Service, including the content of the Service, at any time. If any portion or change of this Agreement is unacceptable you may cancel your membership by emailing the Site Administrator and request cancellation of such.
